JL Agnet RTK Network
Originally we created a small RTK Network to accurately and cost effectively steer our own vehicles on our own farm and in our Contracting Enterprise.
We immediately began to see the benefits of such repeatable accuracy and the savings and efficiencies it was delivering.
Why is RTK the best signal to use on my farm?
The main difference between RTK and all the other signals being offered on the market is that RTK uses a fixed reference point to increase accuracy and prevent drift. Put simply, your tractor connects to one of our many base stations via a multi network SIM card and receiver correction data from the base.
This data tells the tractors receiver the exact location of the base, accurate to a few millimetres. Now by triangulating between the base, the satellites and the tractor, the receiver is able to accurately determine the location of the machine to within 2.5cm.
Even more importantly this location will never move. Not in an hour, a week or even a year.
Advantages of RTK on your Farm
- Accuracy down to 2.5cm pass to pass
- Save tramlines in the same place year after year to minimize compaction on the rest of the fields.
- Sow or cultivate in sets, skip runs or basically work a field whatever way you wish.
(Example 1) Sow both sides of a field first if the middle is steep or wet etc. When Conditions improve sow the rest and still have no misses or overlaps.
(Example 2) Sowing with a trailed drill you can sow all your tramline runs first, turn off the tramlines and fill in the blanks whichever way you wish. This removes the need for tight turns and scrubbing on the headlands. - Partly work a field, get stopped by rain but return the next day and sow again with no fear of the lines drifting.

- We are farmers and contractors ourselves. We run steering systems and use the RTK Network in our own business and understand perfectly what it needs to be able to achieve and the service we need to give. We have tried and tested the network over 2 years here in Co. Wexford.
- We have significant coverage in most tillage areas of Ireland. If you are in an area that we don't yet have service, we will give you a commitment to expand our network if you wish to join.
- We don't expect anyone to subscribe to our network until they have first had a 3 day free trial to make sure they are happy with the connection and that the equipment in their tractor is working correctly.
What do I need in my tractor/machine to be able to connect to the JL AGNET RTK?
- You need an auto steering system that is unlocked for RTK/centimeter accuracy so it can accept NTrip Data
- You need a modem/VDO where our multi network SIM can be installed to allow the tractor to communicate with our network. (Most RTK unlocked systems will have this). We also sell CHCNAV steering systems if required.

How much does JL AG Net RTK Cost?
Up until now, in Ireland, the cost of RTK Subscriptions have been prohibitive for many farmers. Our aim is to lower this cost and help many more farmers access the advantages of RTK Steering. We are the first to offer a 6 month option for the spring crop growers rather than a full 12 months.
